I strongly believe that you do not have to buy books to enjoy them. I ALWAYS recommend using your library card to access books for FREE. However, I recognize that books make great gifts.
Animal friends Snow Bunny, Mouse, Fox, and Bear set out for a day of winter fun just before the holiday. One by one, however, Snow Bunny’s friends bail on the activities to go home and warm up. Lonely, Snow Bunny starts home before making a discovery that inspires a solution to her problem. After a quick stop at Mr. Badger’s shop, Bunny gets to work. The next day, she presents her friends with homemade gifts to keep them warm so they can continue to frolic together. When the friends lament not having a gift for Snow Bunny, she reminds them that “friendship is the greatest gift of all.”
The gorgeous illustrations feature adorable forest creatures, magical winter scenes, and rich details. Lumiere and Chip loved the shiny foil details incorporated into the artwork on each page. It is a sparkly, special reading experience with a sweet message about thoughtfulness and friendship. Definitely request this one from your library this winter!
Rebecca Harry also has written and illustrated Snow Bunny’s Christmas Wish as well as the newly-released A House for Christmas Mouse, which we cannot wait to read.
